False Preachers & Teachers
Then this message came to me from the Lord: 2 “Son of man, prophesy against the false prophets of Israel who are inventing their own prophecies. Say to them, ‘Listen to the word of the Lord. 3 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: What sorrow awaits the false prophets who are following their own imaginations and have seen nothing at all! "Ezekiel 13: 1-3"
What sorrow does indeed wait! Hello everyone Zach Sedrel here bringing you a word from God that has been on my heart for quite some time now. It is the teaching of a watered down gospel going out to the masses of the USA today. There is a disturbing amount of churches today not teaching about repentance, not doing alter calls, not teaching the Gospel in the appropriate proportions and instead using the Gospel to satisfy our own earthly selfishness by always promising blessings and always always an uplifting message no matter what. No matter what!! Always uplifting because that is obviously what God wants, right?!? Wrong, open your Bibles and read the written word of God and you will find all throughout the Bible how Jesus and the Father continuously call Israel and the church to repentance! God is always good and his Love is not capable of being fully described in earthly language; however there is a huge gap missing from our churches when it comes to repentance and judgement. Yes the living God hates sin and he cannot be in the presence of sin. Which is why he sent his son Jesus to die on the cross so that we might be saved. The Bible states every man/woman is a sinner and has broken God's law! Every single one, we all deserve the eternal fires of hell for our sins! Go to your church and see how often that message is brought up....if you're like millions and millions of Americans going to church the answer is going to be never. In many churches that messaging is not taught because it doesn't fit the 'formula'. The formula of building America's mega churches to get as many people in the door as possible. If your pastor or someone you follow on Facebook/Youtube/Instagram, etc. has got a mansion and their living far exceeds that of the average person attending that church 'unsubscribe' from them immediately! Or if your church is being run like a business with the pastor as CEO that has very little if anytime for the average person attending then I would also caution you. Authenticate leadership is hard to find as many in our churches think of the Gospel as a way to generate income and have traded their love of Christ for Money.
6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. 7After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. 8So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. 1 Timothy 6: 6-8
Do your research, read your Bible and then listen to what they're teaching. If the proportions of the message they're teaching are not lining up to what's being taught in the Bible then you have your answer.
Concerning Ezekiel 13 which part of I have listed above talks directly to men/women coming into our churches and giving a 'prophetic word'. You'll hear that a lot, this prophet or this teacher has a prophetic word and they travel around the country to different churches doing this. They're easy to spot, they will have a book and merchandise for you to buy in the lobby and they'll go around the stage like a John Edwards show saying the holy spirit is speaking to them about different physical ailments people are experiencing or maybe a relationship issue. Claiming to be speaking with God while on stage giving everyone a different prophetic word. First of all church I want you to remember how the true prophets came to the people in Jerusalem and surrounding areas in the old testament. They came with a warning, turn from your wicked ways and repent to the Lord! That is the reoccurring theme in the Bible. I have had a personal experience with two of what I would consider false prophets, one was on stage doing this and I was appalled at what I was seeing. Blatantly claiming to be speaking with God while onstage and in my eyes making a mockery of the Holy Spirit. The other one gave me his 'prophetic' word after I basically told him my life story and you guessed it... his 'prophetic word' mirrored exactly what I told him about my life! This was no word from God but someone making up in his own mind what he thought the Lord was speaking to him. If you ever hear of someone needing to practice their prophetic word or skill- turn around and run!!! These people are not from God.
To everyone reading this I can personally attest to 3 supernatural experiences in my life with the Lord. I will share this in upcoming posts. I can testify honestly that the vast majority of these 'prophets' have either brainwashed themselves into thinking they're hearing from God supernaturally or they're doing it for money. Plain and simple. God doesn't give you supernatural experiences on command and while some may experience this more than others I can personally testify to the fact that it's not a light switch you get to turn on to entertain people when it's your turn to speak on stage. Please be spiritually mature in this matter and not naive enough to believe everything you see and hear that spiritual leaders are telling you. Research and verify it in the Bible yourself.
I post this out of Love for all people reading that this would be warning to you and not to be naive about the sermons you're listening to. Don't just take the word of the mega-church pastor, I want you to open your Bible and read it! Read God's word directly for yourself and if you don't have a Bible reply to this post and I'll give you one for free! One of the best enduring teachers and evangelists of today's era is Billy Graham. I've posted a link to his Youtube channel below and if there is anyone you're turning to for teaching about the Bible it should be Billy Graham. Otherwise open it and read the living word of God yourself- it will payoff eternally.
God Bless and I'm available at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need a Bible or a prayer request.
